From the beginning of the confinement, the network of Catalan clusters came together to help the more than 2,300 companies that are part of this network, and launched a program of 5 webinars transversal on tools for business management, as well as a platform online, Copernic, where you can consult questions, review resources or be in contact with the network of professionals.
Continuing with the state of alarm activated, and given the good reception that the different sessions have had, it was decided jointly to give a continuity to the days and a second part with varied topics such as cybersecurity, communication online or e-commerce.
These jointly organized seminars are held weekly every Tuesday and Thursday. On Tuesday April 14th began the first webinar on Microsoft tools for managing more productive computers remotely, where experts detailed how to work with theOffice365 and how to extract data from theExceli el PowerBI. Also a second online session with the Cristina Masachs about communication as a key tool to remain visible, differential and close in times of crisis, last Thursday April 16th.
An inspiring, beneficial and motivating day awaits us, such as the April 21st in which the keys will be given on cybersecurity, in a telework context, to protect our systems from external attacks that could harm our company; or that of April 23, which will analyze the labor and Social Security keys with Cuatrecasas where the measures adopted in the field of employment and Social Security to deal with the crisis of COVID-19 will be analyzed.
The following week, the April 28th, will be explained as the telework it can go from being an obligation or an imposition caused by the situation, to an opportunity to automate certain processes and to bet on the digitalization that can help in improving the productivity and in the reduction of costs. In line with the digitization process, the online communication is one of the key points and the topic to be addressed next April 30.
On Tuesday May 5th we will expose the threats and opportunities of the e-commerce together with the expert Santiago Sánchez, by The eTailers; and on Thursday May 7 with a session on techniques and tools for Design Thinking which can be performed remotely during confinement and beyond. The goal is to share methods for exploring, devising, and prioritizing new business opportunities and ideas.
To end this second submission of webinars will be held the last two days 12 and May 14. The first will talk about the manufacturing process of approved solutions for hospitals and this second part will end with the Xavier Lesuavage talking about business transformation of the post COVID-19.
This type of action, aimed at encouraging cooperation between member companies, as well as the transfer of information, will be maintained over time if the partners so wish and will be adapted to the circumstances we live in at that time.
About clusters: Clusters are non-profit organizations that bring together companies and entities that operate in the same sector or market segment, and that collaborate with each other to achieve more and better business opportunities. Currently, 2,300 companies and agents in the environment are part of 30 clusters in Catalonia, representing 30% of the economy's GDP (74 billion euros of aggregate turnover). Organizations associated with clusters generate more than 300,000 jobs. According to data made public by ACCIÓ, 76% of cluster member companies say that being part of these organizations makes them more competitive, while 91% invests in R&D and innovation.
