COVID-19 has shown that the lack of spatial separation in the home can make it difficult to mentally abandon one task and start another. For this reason, to make life more comfortable, the international law firm of architects Woods Bagot has created the AD-APT modular system. The series is designed to modify family apartments with walls and screens that can be easily rearranged for different tasks such as cooking, working or playing.
The design has been worked on during these months of confinement to see how many people had to creatively adapt their home spaces for work and other unexpected purposes. The AD-APT system was created by leaving the essential elements such as the toilet or the entrance fixed. Then different panels have been designed that move to set the Day Mode (for during the day), the Night Mode (for during the night) or the Play Mode (for the weekend).
